I furnish below a link to the Decccan Chronicle news paper of today i.e. 7th Aug. 2007. It contains a well-written article titled "THE FATHER, THE SON AND THE HOLY SPIRIT" by "Maverick - Farzana Versey" . It mainly deals with the "gap" between Mahatma Gandhi and his son Harilal Gandhi, who converted to Islam.

We may not agree with all the views of the author on Gandhiji. But the article helps us to study Gandhiji's life from an unbiased perspective.
The author seems to find fault with Gandhiji for of Harilal Gandhi's defection to Islam and his addiction to alcohol. Gandhiji was 24/7 busy with the freedom struggle, we must say that he neglected his family for the sake of India. Gandhiji's last letter on the subject of Harilal Gandhi was addressed to one Shri P R Chengalvaroya Chettiyar, 40, Venkatachala Street, Triplicane, Madras. There he expressed an openness that Harilal Gandhi will be welcome back to Sevagram, once he sheds his evil habits. He said those good people out of mistaken kindness, nurse his evil habits become his enemies. Gandhiji seems to be reasonable in his approach.
I invite your comments of all hues.
